This months featured showman is Kadyn Braaten. Kadyn is a sophomore in highschool from Townsend, Montana. She loves to show at Montana State Fair and the NILE, and has 2 siblings- Spencer and Trenton. Read below to find out more about her and her livestock showing journey!
Montana Ag: What species do you show and which is your favorite?
Kadyn: I show pigs, hiefers, steers and lambs. My favorite is pigs by far.

Montana Ag: What is your most memorable stock show moment?
Kadyn: I cannot pick just 1 single moment, my years of showing livestock have been amazing. I’ve been able to travel to many different places with my family, meet so many great people, build friendships that will last a lifetime, and make memories I will be able to cherish forever. Some of my top memories would definitely be showing at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, IA with my family this past summer, watching my little brother win the NILE in 2017, and sharing countless laughs while I spend tons of time with all my friends at stock shows.

Montana Ag: What do you consider your biggest showing accomplishment?
Kadyn: I think my biggest showing accomplishment would have to be getting a callback at World Pork Expo last summer. Either that or having Reserve Champion senior hog showman at the MT state fair last August.
Montana Ag: Outside of showing livestock, what other hobbies do you enjoy?
Kadyn: When I’m not showing, I enjoy livestock judging, being involved in my FFA chapter and 4-H club, playing basketball, skiing, and raising show hogs with my family.

Montana Ag: What is one piece of advice you would offer to other kids in the barn?
Kadyn: Be kind, work hard, stay humble, and enjoy every minute of it.

This is so cool!!
