Its common to hear of kids gearing up for their last year of showing and to try and, “go out with a bang” but for 14-year-old Kendal Vandivort she used this show season to go IN with a bang.

Kendal is no stranger to the show barn, having shown pigs and lambs the last several years, but she decided it was time to change things up and traded the sheep in for goats. She told us, “I wanted to try something other than sheep. I also didn’t really enjoy showing lambs either, so I thought I’d try something new.”

Kendal had a successful run this season, being 100% undefeated, winning 5 out of 5 shows she attended. Starting out at the Western Ranch Spectacular jackpot show in Billings this June, the Bronze Bonanza show in Bozeman, and finished it out with winning Montana State Fair, and the Montana fair open and 4-H shows.
She has loved learning the ropes of fitting a new species and said it’s been her favorite part about showing goats, but the best moment of the year for her was receiving that final handshake at Montana Fair.
